Since Chris and I moved into our apartment, we’ve only had 1 assigned garage parking spot. Early on, we decided that the person who had to work the earliest would get the spot. This worked out pretty even until I got my job at The Canyons and had him pretty easily beat- by leaving the house at 5am. I got the spot a solid 5 days/week. I felt bad for him and Pumpkin, but not bad enough to drive a freezing car in the dark to work knowing that he was still fast asleep in the comfy bed.
We started a mission to get an extra spot in our garage. There are about 30 units in our apartment and many of them we’ve noticed are either vacant or only used once and awhile. We noticed spot 104 and had talked to the owners of the unit once before. We met them in the hot tub and found out that they live in Las Vegas and come to their ski condo about once a month. We’d been eyeing this spot for awhile, but just hadn’t run into them again.
It happened over the weekend. We ran into them in the hot tub! Even though Chris had super pruney hands and feet he waited until the right moment and BAM! asked if we could use their spot when they were out of town. We told them that we were willing to do anything for them and move when they came. We’d taken their recycling to the Recycle Center for them before and they said they’d appreciate if we kept doing that. We exchanged information and the next day a note was under our door saying we could use the spot when they were out of town and they’d call or email on their way in and we’d move.
We now have 2 gargage spots. Snowflake parks in 207 and Pumpkin gets 104. They are some lucky cars with some smooth talkin’ and thinkin’ owners!
