We left Cape Town at midnight, so were able to spend most of the 11 hour flight to Amsterdam sleeping (great timing!). We got into Amsterdam around 11:30am and didn’t have to be on our flight back to Utah until 5:30pm, so we decided to explore as much of Amsterdam as we could in 3 hours, we took the train to Central Station and got on a hour long canal cruise and loved it!
Chris was a little nervous about not making it back to the airport in time!
We got on our canal cruise at 1:00, it ended at 2:00 and we were en route back to the airport by 2:15. Pretty easy!
I didn’t realize Amsterdam was so connected by canals, they’re like the same as roads there! Tons of waterways through the whole city.
This *might* be Anne Frank’s house.. it was a frantic day..
People seriously ride bikes here. No gears, nothing fancy, just cruiser bikes. It’s pretty flat.. no need for gears. Cool!
Here’s a photo of us on our last flight. We’re losing our minds and REALLY ready to get home.
Look! Look! Those mountains are the Wasatch! We’re home!
We flew home on July 3rd, just in time to enjoy the 4th of July with Julie – she was in town watching Penguin for the past week. It was nice to come home to a not-so-empty house! Thanks Julie for watching our best buddy, though we’re a little worried she likes her more than us now..
