Every year since I was about 10 years old, I’ve gone camping on Lake Belle Taine in Nevis, MN to a place called Camper’s Paradise. A cheesy name, but well fitting for a place like this. We camp on the same site right on the lake and don’t ever have a schedule. Just wake up and manage to get in a good amount of relaxation and play into the day. I LOVE it up here, a summer without it just wouldn’t be a Wawra summer.
It’s a good thing we covered the boat! We got a storm that night with really strong winds (50 Mph?) and a lot of rain. We weren’t very prepared for it and woke up to our tent poles bending inward and the rain fly almost flapping off the tent. Sharon, my mom, dad and I stayed up for 2 hours holding our tent up. We each took shifts stabilizing the poles and holding onto the rain fly. We definitely got wet in our tent, sometimes even splashed in the face by rain that would come in. It was by far the scariest storm I’ve ever camped in. A tree fell 6 feet from us onto our camp kitchen (the wood box). We were lucky!
For dinner on Thurzday, we went to my new favorite reztruant, Zhateau Zorbaz. At Zorbas you can get Zelf-Zervice friendly Zaff and they also have 24 Beerz on tap. What a good place to eat! Here’z Paul with hiz deliciouz Zorbaz Meal.
