When Jeanna and Clint invited Chris and I to go couch rafting with them a couple weeks ago, both Chris and I were like “For Sure! We’ve been wanting to go rafting since we moved out here, and really didn’t know what to expect. After tons of questions about what couch rafting was, how could it would be, what we should wear, what we should bring and how much paddling we will be doing.. We headed out Saturday morning for our first trip out on a raft.
After a HUGE snow season and a wet spring, the rivers in Utah are very high. We rafted the Weber River, which was very high. Normally, rafters would sometimes have a chance at getting under this bridge. We had no chance and had to portage. I don’t know if i’d feel safe driving over this!! That tarp is not doing much work.
Chris is a good paddler, when he has a paddle. During a mishap bringing our boat ashore to portage, he threw his paddle in the water and it floated downstream. He claims he was concerned about saving me. I was fine and we now owe Clint a paddle.
These were some friends we met on the river. Peter, Kelly and Becca. We sorta stuck together during our trip and helped each other know what was ahead and when. They were pretty experienced rafters, so it was good to have their knowledge of the best routes down the river.
