Chris just left yesterday after being here for an extended weekend. For some reason, it always snows here when he comes to visit, which is an added bonus. Two things I really am crazy about on the same weekend makes for an awesome weekend. I took very few photos and left my camera at work, so I apologize for the lack of imagery. I had time off work this time around, which allowed for 2 full days of snowboarding in some spring powder, a successful trip to the Bayou the the Faber girls and Irene, rock climbing at Momentum, movies, dinner out (Chipolte!) and at home (Salmon!), and cuddling and sleep.
On Friday, we went to PCMR with my friend Josh from work… had a local day in Park City with a stop at the Corner Store (a bar) for some PBR’s for $1. What a deal! Friday night we finally made it to the Bayou- a bar in Salt Lake with tons of different beers from all around the world. The 2 times Chris and I tried to go there before, there was a 2 hour wait. Annoying! We met Maggie, Katie and Irene there. Afterwards we saw SemiPro. I was the only one who didn’t like it- I fell asleep during it!
Saturday was awesome! In the morning we went to Utah Olympic Park and saw the U.S. Nordic Combined Championships- we watched ski jumping. It was crazy. I will post pictures. So strange to see it so close! It was honestly my 2nd U.S. Ski Team event I’ve ever been to- I’m usually working at Starbucks when they’re in town, and I don’t travel much with work. We left and went to “the Bird” a.k.a Snowbird- the steepest, most bad ass place around here for snowboarders, in my opinion. It was just that. 14 inches of powder and steep steep stuff, with limited visibility because there was a snowstorm while we were there. It was awesome. I have yet to be let down by it.
Sunday, I had to work at the Bux- Chris headed to PCMR and had an awesome time and made me feel all jealous when he came to pick me up. I got him back and took him to Momentum, the climbing gym I go to in Salt Lake. His arms gave out much earlier than mine, but we both still had a good time- it was nice to show him what I do and how exciting it’ll be to do some outdoor climbing once the snow melts!
Monday was St. Patrick’s day. Chris went home. 🙁
