My family came to visit me over a week ago- and I’m just now posting about it (oops). I’ve been very busy at work, as I’m filling in for the graphic designer at Canyons who recently had her baby. Turns out she had her little girl on the day before my family got into town! Nice, timing huh? I was able to still get the time off that I had planned and was so happy to enjoy time with them, especially since more work would be coming my way soon!
After we were done skiing, we stopped at Starbucks to get some coffee and pick up the cardboard recycling. There was a lot of cardboard, but we made it work in just 1 trip! Wawras are excellent recyclers and one-trippers.
I joined them for lunch and we split up. I took Mom on some green runs and Paul and Chris took Dad on some blue, maybe even black runs. He crashed a few times! Oops! Good thing it was the last day of skiing.
On Sunday, we went xc skiing and snow shoeing in the Uintas. It was a relaxing day and nice to get out of town. We got out and got ready to go at one trailhead and then realized we wanted to be at another one. We shoved Dad (shoeshoes on) in the back of Snowflake and drove to another trail.
I made a mistake and gave Paul Chris’s xc skis to wear. I forgot that since his skis are the kind you have to wax, they’re not very good for going uphill and are very slippery. I didn’t realize this until we saw Paul way behind us. I started laughing at him slipping all around, but had to stop as he got closer. Sorry Paul!
We went on the “Mine Trail” where we were going to eventually end up at a mine entrance and mining cabins. Our plan was to have lunch next to it once we found it, turns out that wasn’t possible. Here’s the cabin and the snow goes to the roof. Mom’s pole is stuck all the way in the snow and could even go further!
Sunday night we went to church and then home for dinner with Nancye, who brought lefse back from Norway for us! She brought us 3 different kinds, one of which was homemade and delicious! Thanks Nancye!
