My family came to visit for an extended weekend- They flew in last Thursday and left yesterday afternoon. I really really enjoyed spending time with them. If only I could combine my Utah life with the people I love from Minnesota all the time, I’d be one happy girl. Here’s a recap in my words:
Friday: We toured my office at the Ski Team and stopped by Starbucks before heading to Salt Lake to go to Brighton for the day. Brighton was great- about 6 inches of fresh powder, which everyone handled pretty well. Sharon had a tumbling snowball type fall and literally rolled down the mountain leaving a ski about 10 feet above her. It was hilarious- she looked like a snowman. Mom said “This is too much snow” something you will never hear me say. After a great day on the mountain, we attempted to go pick up Snowflake (my car) from the repair shop and go to Jeff and Erin’s for pizza. But- we got stuck in Big Cottonwood canyon for 2 and 1/2 hours- because a tour bus didn’t put chains on and jack knifed taking up both lanes. We finally got out of there when Dad (our hero!) took matters into his own hands and stopped oncoming traffic so we could go around the bus. We picked up Snowflake (who is now even more awesome than before) and went to Jeff and Erins- pizza was awesome and I got to show off my lil’ place out in the country.
Saturday: I had to work in the morning at the lovely Starbucks- which ended up not being so bad. It was nice to take a break from being tour guide and do something normal. My family made it up to Park City Mtn. Resort just fine without me and I met up with them when I got off work. Mom found a new love for chair lifts that go up and down as she rode the Town Lift a total of 2 times up and 2 times down. I took Dad and Sharon on one of my favorite runs and it turned out to be a little too extreme as Dad took a few spills! Woops! For dinner we met the Faber family at the Training Table in Salt Lake. Sharon stepped up to the plate and did her task.
Sunday: We split up- Paul, Dad and Holly went to The Canyons and ended up being on a chairlift during a thunder and lightning snowstorm. They had quite the experience. Mom and Sharon and I went show shoeing in the Uintas and had a great time. We took a ton of photos with my camera. We finally found our way to the hot tub at the condo- and enjoyed it even though we were getting pelted by snow while sitting in it. For dinner we went to Main Street- the entire family shared 2 pitchers of beer! We’re all over 21 now!! Crazy!
Monday: Paul and Holly finally got their shopping time in- we spent most of the morning runing errands and shopping on Main Street. We ate a delicious lunch at a deli on Main Street and then they headed to the airport. 🙁
Hopefully I’ll get some photos from the other cameras over the weekend and be able to add to this album (hint hint– send me photos!)
