This post is now two weeks delayed. I have no real reason why. Just kept forgetting to write about it, but totally had intentions to!
A couple weeks ago, I went on a girls only camping trip with 3 of my friends from book club. We were a little hesitant to go, being that it was the first weekend in November and the weather could end up pretty nasty. We brought Sarah’s pop-up camper with a heater, there’s no way I would be tent camping in November! If you know me, you know I don’t really like to be cold. We still went and were glad we did, it turned into a really great weekend.
We packed up in the rain/snow and left town around 7pm. Not a real promising start, but we were determined!
We set up the trailer in the pouring cold rain around 11pm at night. Afterward we went inside, cranked the heater and drank some wine. Warmed up in no time!
Nicole and I slept on the side near the heater and were warm and toasty! I actually woke up because I was hot, not cold.
Megan cooked us some french toast. Yum!
Not many people camping in November. We had the whole place to ourselves!
On Saturday we went on a hike through a crack canyon. Very cool.
We had to go up and over rocks at times, it made things interesting and we had a good time helping pushing each other’s butts over rocks. Ha!
It was a beautiful hike. Lots of redrock and cool rock formations from the wind blowing through the narrow canyon.
A little bit of fall color too!
Megan and I in little “cubbies”.
The whole group: Sarah, me, Nicole and Megan.
My feet and some rocks.
We went back to the camper and it was pretty windy so we “stayed in” for dinner.
The wind died down and I wanted to rally everyone to have a campfire, but it just got too comfy in the trailer, no one wanted to go out with me. It was a beautiful night and overall a really great weekend.
