We’re trying to make a trip out of Park City to explore some other ski towns – last year we went to Breckenridge and this year we joined our friends Tim and Rebecca and their friend Jim for a weekend in Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee in Wyoming.
We might have jinxed ourselves by saying “it’s never not snowed when we went to Targhee” See our last trip in 2011. We jinxed ourselves for sure – this time we didn’t get snow. Conditions on Friday at Targhee ended up being the best of the weekend because of a storm they got earlier in the week. It was snowing on our way to Jackson Hole on Saturday, but we got to the resort and didn’t find a whole lot of fresh powder, just rain. 🙁 Sunday was pretty hard packed back at Targhee. Oh well, it was still a really nice weekend to be away from home and off work!
Drinks at the Trap bar at Grand Targhee on Friday
Tim and Rebecca – they like beer.
We followed a plow to get to Jackson Hole on Saturday morning – usually that’s the sign of a good ski day ahead.. This was not the case today. 🙁
Made it safely to Jackson Hole!
We started our day with a ride up the Tram – climbing up to 11,000 feet. Not a real great ride if you’re afraid of heights!
The weather cleared up a little bit, but the snow still wasn’t super great.
Can’t beat this!
After our day at Jackson Hole, we went to the Snake River Brewery. Great beers!
In the main area of Jackson Hole they have an archway built out of antlers – cool, huh?
