Last weekend Chris and I went to Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee with some friends for a weekend getaway. We went to this area last year and had a really great time, so went back for more. We stayed in Driggs, Idaho, which is really near the border between Wyoming and Idaho. About a 4 hour drive from Park City. We got exactly what we were looking for, fresh SNOW, good food and relaxing time with friends! Stay tuned for more photos and maybe a video to come, this could easily be post 1 of 2.
We had a pretty big group this year. Megan, George, Joe, Sarah, Charlie, Amber-Jean, Chris and I. All 8 of us made it up on the slopes for at least some part of the weekend.
Here’s Chris just off the summit at Jackson Hole on Saturday.
Whenever Chris and I go out for a full day of snowboarding he usually packs snacks for me and carries them in his backpack (as shown above). If he doesn’t come prepared with snacks, I get grouchy and cold and want to go inside. If there are snacks, there is no problem! Here I am eating a snack, a pop tart to be specific. Chris takes good care of me.
Here’s Megan and Amber-Jean. Notice Megan’s stylish hair on the goggles? She’s a trend starter in Wyoming.
Chris and I actually went to Jackson Hole in 2004 and rode the tram as our very first trip up a mountain out West. Since then they replaced the tram, this is the new one, we rode it again. Still pretty cool.
An Apres ski snow bar. Couldn’t do this in Utah! Crazy liquor laws!
On Sunday we went to Grand Targhee. We had a bit of a snowy morning with over 9 inches of fresh snow! You can’t even see my snowboard here! Awesome!!
The skies cleared up in the afternoon, enough to see the whole group and a nice view. From left to right: Megan, Amber-Jean, Sarah, me, Chris and George. What a perfect day!
Amber-Jean and I sat in the hotub for quite a while on Sunday night, we just couldn’t get enough of the sunset (or maybe the ice cold beers?).
Our friends Joe and Sarah brought their son Charlie. He kept an eye on us when we were in the hot tub. He was a lot of fun to be around, I’m glad they brought him!
A sunset photo from mom. I watched it when I was sitting in the hot tub.
Sorta like Camper’s Paradise?
