Chris and I had a really great Thanksgiving, complete with plenty of friends and plenty of food. We both worked the holiday and still found time to celebrate with friends and eat some really delicious food!
Chris and I made pies on Wednesday night. We were responsible for brining a pecan pie and a pumpkin pie. Chris made pumpkin because he doesn’t like nuts.
I made pecan from Grandma Margaret’s recipe! Ready to go in the oven! Yum!
Cali stayed with us over the weekend because Nancye was out of town. She wasn’t much help with the pie baking.
Thanksgiving morning I ran the Cottonwood Heights Thanksgiving Day 5K in Salt Lake with Irene and her friend Amy. It’s was a beautiful race and a nice way to get out before the busy day ahead!
If you beat the mayor of Cottonwood Heights you get a ribbon. We all beat him! I ran a pretty fast race finishing in 28 minutes with a 9.18 min/mile. That’s pretty speedy for me!
After the run, I went to work at Starbucks for a few hours before going to Megan and George’s for dinner. Megan took a cooking class to make Thanksgiving dinner- look at her beautiful turkey!
Ahh.. Mashed potatoes, my favorite!
Buffet style Thanksgiving food.
The whole group, about 9 of us. Friends of Megan and George who all gathered together for dinner. Lots of new faces.
Chris’s pumpkin pie – looks perfect!
My pecan pie!
Me, Megan, Jeanine, and Ginia.
After dinner we went black friday shopping at the outlet mall, something that’s quickly becoming a tradition for us! The line at Columbia wrapped all the way around the store. We waited about 30 minutes to check out. It was madness!
