Chris and I flew in on Christmas Eve around noon and went right into the Christmas celebrations! I forgot my cell phone at the SLC airport, so had to rely on Chris for photos. We came right into brunch with the Olson side of the Wawra family – it was delicious! Two types of egg bake, lefse, grapefruit.. you can’t go wrong with this menu as far as I’m concerned!
Well, I guess you can go wrong with it – by 7pm that night, I was sick with the stomach flu. We went over to Scott and Chrissy’s house for dinner and I kept politely excusing myself to use the toilet. After throwing up two times, I told Mom that I was ready to go.
Santa did come to see Sydney – Sydney was so happy that he decided to stop at her house first. Santa did a great job dressing up and making Sydney feel special. If only he could have used his magic to make me feel better!
I went home sick and was sick for the next day, which meant I was sick for Christmas. 🙁 Sadly, this isn’t my only time being sick on Christmas. I got sick once when I was a kid on this day too! My Mom and Dad and Chris did a great job making the day still special for me. It was just nice to be home – nothing beats having your Mom and Dad (and Chris) take care of you when you’re sick.
Chris went on with Christmas as planned and got to spend some quality time with Ellen – she’s getting so much bigger each time we see her! A little more personality each time. Such a cutie!
I was feeling better by Friday, and spent the day with the Neville’s at Julie’s house – we opened presents and Ellen got a lot of books. She’s going to be real smart if she starts reading at age one!
We worked on a Las Vegas puzzle and finished it after midnight – I think Chris looks like he’s about to fall asleep. He doesn’t love puzzles as much as Julie and I!
We came back to Utah and couldn’t get in our driveway! Over a foot of snow since we left! Bring it on! Whoo hoo! We had some shoveling to do, but to have the snow, it’s totally worth it.
A little hard to get to our back door.
