Attention World: I GOT MY BRACES OFF! I finally feel like a normal adult again, not some questionable teenage metal mouth with food constantly stuck in her teeth.
The 22 months of having braces was worth it, I really like how they turned out! When I went in for the consult, the orthodontist told me all this stuff about “loving my new smile and my new teeth” and at the time, I was like.. yeah, yeah, this is functional, not cosmetic. Just get ’em done, so I don’t have to have jaw surgery.
Turns out, they were right. I do love my new smile! (and I saved a TON of money on a jaw surgery!).
The classic “after shot”. My friend Brooks took it right when I walked back into work, so I could blast it out to the world on facebook and via text.
I invited a bunch of friends to a Braces Off Party at the park and told people that it’d be picnic style with apples and corn on the cob provided. Those are the foods I missed most with my metal mouth, so it was time to pig out and celebrate! This is a photo of my first post-braces bite of an apple!
Jeanna and I showin’ off our nice teeth.
Getting ready to eat corn!
First bite of corn. Oh how, I’ve missed you!
This is my 2nd corn on the cob – I planned on eating 3 ears of corn, but the hot dogs and potato salad got in the way.
