I am turning into quite the climber, I even took a day off work to do it. Irene convinced me to take a day off work and head to Joe’s Valley (a climbing area near Price, UT.. Middle/South Utah- I live in the North). Irene, Ian (Irene’s friend from work) and I left at 8am and returned around midnight. The rock down there was so different from Cottonwood Canyon- very sand paper like and every boulder was different from another. We had nice weather- could have been a little warmer considering we were in the desert, but oh well. I had a great time playing on rocks.
Irene loves Joe’s Valley!
Boulders all have names, most of them I don’t remember, this one is called Moby Dick, because it looks like a whale. This PROBLEM is Ian’s, he’s been working on it for awhile, therefore it’s his PROJECT. Climbing terms defined: A PROBLEM is a path on a boulder that you use to get to the top, a PROJECT is a problem that you haven’t completed yet.
Oh yeah and hanging off trees falling down the mountain. (I’m not really falling off the mountain… Irene just did an awesome job taking this photo).
It was a good day. No broken bones, no cracked skulls… only a scratched up wrist. Sorry Irene.
