It’s been about a month and half since I’ve had a car. After saying goodbye to Snowflake in tears, I knew it would take a lot to replace her. Not just any car would do. I was very picky in my search and found exactly what I was looking for and bought a new car on Saturday.
Meet Rhubarb or “Rhuby the Subie”. I wanted a name with a Minnesota connection and rhubarb grows like crazy there in my parents’ backyard and we’d have rhubarb sauce a lot, and it’s red, so it sorta just fit. Chris was trying to convince me to name her Blood and Paul wanted Woog after Doug Woog.
Rhubarb has everything I wanted in a car: heated seats, all-wheel drive, tinted rear windows, hatchback/wagon style, decent gas mileage, will fit a big Snowtime, bluetooth, and most of all MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I wanted manual transmission so bad that I lived without a car for over a month. It’s very difficult to find a car with it these days! I transferred Rhubarb in from a Carmax in Texas to get the stick shift. With Carmax, you can search the entire US and if you find a car at a different Carmax dealer, you can pay to have the car brought to your local dealer on a flatbed truck and test drive and decide if you want to buy it after the car arrives. Pretty cool huh? Here’s the basic listing.
