Twin Cities Marathon is coming up in 3 weeks, which means according to my normal training schedule, I should be doing a 20 miler this weekend. I decided to take on a challenge and do 26.2 on the trail instead of the usual 20.
I did the Mid Mountain Marathon- a trail marathon here in Park City that runs basically parallel to the mountain ridgeline up and down around 8,000 feet between Deer Valley and Canyons. I had a great time and might just have to work this into my regular training plan.
8 miles later, I’m coming into the finish! Finished 5 hours 29 minutes. My normal road race is right around 5.. so considering this race is very hilly, and essentially a training run for Twin Cities, this time ain’t bad at all!
I ran about 1/2 of the race with my friend and Chris’s co-worker Garry. He finished just about 15 minutes behind me. Without him, I would be finishing a lot slower. Both of us stuck together until about mile 16 and really kept each other going strong. Thanks for a good race Garry!
