Another Minnesota tradition- The Minnesota State Fair. I’m not crazy crazy about the fair, but do enjoy going and enjoy the food. It was maroon and gold day which is a special U of M celebration day– everyone wears maroon and gold and the band marches in the parade. We got to see Paul march and sing Hail Minnesota with some other band alumni.
The big thing at the fair this year was chocolate covered bacon at the Famous Dave’s booth. This however, is a booth were you can buy thick strips of bacon on a stick for $3. We tried to get some chocolate covered bacon, but the line was super long and you had to wait 30 minutes for them to make a new batch! Talk about not prepared for the new hit tasty stick item at the fair!! Hello!
We went in the horticulture building and found this really nice “It’s time to Make Peace with the Canada Geese!” booth. Obviously, I wasn’t up for making peace. I still hate geese. They are mean and hiss and snap at me during my runs. This booth proves ineffective.
