Thanks to my mountain biking all star friend Nate who taught me how to ride a bike over rocks and up and down mountains, I have a new activity that I’m proudly addicted to.
Along with running, hiking, camping, boating and many more.. I’m proud to add mountain biking to the list of things I absolutely LOVE to do outside. When it comes down to it, I enjoy things that are challenging physically and mentally (explaining my addiction to marathon running??). I put mountain biking in this category, at least until I get better at it. It’s physically hard to climb up a mountain on a bike (I thought I was going to collapse my first climb), put mentally challenging to control your bike and body on the way down while having fun without being too scared of crashing (mainly on switchbacks, a U-turn sort of maneuver, which I’m getting the hang of). I gotta say, I’m bummed that it’s going to snow soon and I won’t be able to continue on until Spring. 🙁
I’m hoping to buy my own bike soon (by spring), but until then, donations are being accepted in forms of cash, check or bike. These are not cheap!
