Today was for sure harder than yesterday. We started out at 7am and hiked to Ulleri, up some 3300 steps built of rock. It was intense, but I really enjoyed it. We stopped for lunch and saw a cat and her baby kitty! After lunch, we hiked a thick wooded jungle, with lots of mossy green trees, waterfalls, birds and ferns. It was a welcome change.
We got to our tea house around 3:30, and immediately noticed it was a lot colder, we were now more at 2800m elevation- starting to be glad I packed all those layers! Chris and I knew we’d fall asleep if we stayed in the hotel room, so we went for a walk and got some tourist Nepali hats and a candy bar for Chris.
Over dinner we met a nice German couple, and a solo traveler from Bulgaria on an 8 month vacation all over Asia, the U.S. and Canada. Jealous!
Chris and Craig are asleep as I write tonight. Chris has been fighting a cold since yesterday and I’m afraid Craig is starting to get it now. I’m trying to not get it too! Craig went to bed around 7 and Chris at 8. I’ll most likely go around 9, we’re waking up to hike Poon Hill at sunrise at 4am!
