One of the cool things about where we live is that you can be on the trail backpacking within a hour of leaving work. We left work on Friday evening at 6:00pm, hiked a mile and half into the woods and had the tent set up and fire started by 8:30pm.
I brought a revolutionary camping item that I got from Erica and had hot water all the time. At night I had “hot watered rum” where I’d add a shot of rum to my hot water while sitting around the campfire. I’m enjoying my hot water in the morning (forgot coffee-darn!) after a chilly night with temps around 40 degrees. Thanks Erica!
We had almost a 2 mile hike to get back to our car. We took our time and enjoyed the scenery. I noticed this flower- it’s called Indian Paintbrush. It’s actually the inspiration of the design of Canyons new orange logo color.
