Chris and I are in the middle of a busy couple weeks and don’t have a lot of time to commit to camping for a whole weekend, so we joined some friends for an afternoon and slept over and left early enough to get to work the next day. Chris woke up at 6am, went home showered and was at work by 8. I didn’t have to be to work ’til 2, so enjoyed the site a little longer in the morning.
It took us a total of 20 minutes to get to a campsite at Jordanelle State Park. We extended the invite to some other Park City people to stop on by and say hi. It’s just that easy.
Here’s our site!
Jordanelle is a reservior which is a man made lake. It’s about as close to the lakes of Minnesota as we can get. There’s tons of action on the water- people using boats, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards! My friend Brooks brought hers by for us to try – Check Chris and I out! Stand up paddleboarding is a new sport- you stand up on a surfboard and paddle around. It’s harder than it looks! Lots of balancing! This photo was taken before Chris fell off his into the water. 🙂
Brooks paddleboards a lot and I used to make fun of it and tell her I wanted to “duff” on her paddleboard just like in the Boundary Waters. It was a lot harder to do it without falling off!
We’re going to hang this photo up at work! Brooks’ cube is right next to mine.
Apparently it’s popular to do yoga on paddleboards, so the group dared me to try it. I want to try it again, maybe with my swim suit on!
It got a little chilly before dusk, so Irene and I put our warm socks on with our flip flops… cute, huh?
