I planted 2,000 trees last week while at work. I didn’t plant all 2,000 myself, but the group of about 20 people I was with did. I personally planted about 50 or 75. Canyons was donated about 2,000 trees from Wasatch Back Trees and the National Forest Service and we had a tree planting day to plant them around the resort.
I worked at my desk in the morning and headed out to plant trees in the afternoon. Sounds like something my dad would do everyday?!
We drove up on the mountain roads in a truck – it was pretty sketchy at times! I was happy I wasn’t driving! Think of a one lane Camper’s Paradise causeway, but with a steep mountain slope on both sides!
Some of the crew planting trees.
Here’s my friend Sally, she’s from Australia and kept joking about Wombat holes as we were walking around looking for good places to plant trees.
Here’s one of the baby trees waiting to go in! We planted a lot along a new trail at Canyons called Red Pine Road that had some hay on the side for erosion control.
Sally and I got a little dirty.
See, tree planted. Only 1,999 left to go!
Another crew planted some along the new golf course, here’s a pretty shot a friend of mine took.
