Now that things are heating up and we’re basically becoming couch rafting pros, we decided it was time for another rafting trip with our friends Clint and Jeanna. We left work right away last Friday and headed to an area just outside of Price, UT to float down the San Rafael River, also known as “Little Grand Canyon”. This trip is known to be really mellow, so much that people can tube down it (it’s considered class I rapids, there the Weber River was more Class II/III).
When we got at night, this van was stuck in mud down by the river. It had two old ladies in it. They were going kayaking down the river. We decided that when we’re old and retired we want to be doing adventures like them. How fun.
It was probably around 90 degrees so it felt good to cool off in the river once and awhile. You can see how high the water is this year by looking at the erosion on the bank, it was quite the snow season in Utah, it’s all got melt down to somewhere!
The float down the river is pretty long. We ended up being on the river for 8 hours, which allowed plenty of time for drinking. Jeanna and Clint had Party Boots which they drank boxed wine and I might have put down a few BudLight Limes. Don’t worry! We wore lifejackets the whole time and the river was pretty shallow!
Check out the video! If you know me, you know that I love stepping on things that make noise.. this was pretty much as good as finding good ice on a walk with Erica.
Funny Video alert! I was playing in the mud by myself and got Jeanna to come play and Chris to take a video of us. You’ll hear Chris’s comments and realize who was the sober cab on the raft- ha!
