Last summer I tried to grow lettuce and failed. I wasn’t ready to accept defeat, so attempted tomatoes this summer.
This spring, I went to the farmer’s market and got a starter plant from a farmer who told me it would be possible to grow tomatoes in a pot on my deck. I asked a lot of questions about what size pot, how much to water, how much sunlight, to fertilize or not to and finally, the farmer lady told me to google it (I think she was annoyed with me and my $2.00 starter plant). Since this was going to my last attempt at growing anything. I wanted to get it right this time.
I have 2 red tomatoes and 1 green one! I did it!
I’m still questioning all that work for 3 tomatoes- buying tomatoes might have been a little easier, but where’s the pride in that? I’m proud of these 3 ‘lil guys-
they’re the first thing I’ve grown!
What better meal for my harvest than BLTs! Or BLATs (I added avocado to them). Red 1 and Red 2 are the sliced tomatoes on the right hand side. The tomatoes on the left are from the grocery store. Mine totally look and tasted way better.
