At the end of May, I went back to California, this time to have a little more R&R and less running 26.2. I spent most of my time running Big Sur near Carmel, CA and now went to Santa Cruz. It’s a great spot- total surfer town and very casual.. I loved it!
My good friend Brownie’s uncle has a place right on the ocean and Brownie and her mom Connie were going to stay there for a girls weekend and asked me if I wanted to join. I found a cheap flight and was IN.
The deck of Uncle Ted’s house. Literally ON THE OCEAN.
Brownie with a cool Cali van – I think she wishes it was hers.
Friday we went and got pedicures- here’s Connie and I gettin’ our toes done!
We went out to dinner at a place called Burger – this is a veggie burger with a doughnut bun. Insane.
Northern California is a bit chilly so on Saturday, we left the house to drive a little south in search of a good beach. We ordered some lunch to-go and I bought a new hat before we headed out. Here’s a photo of me modeling my new hat – I sent this photo to Chris and he asked “Why does it look like you’re in the middle of a bomb attack?” There was construction behind me… geez! Mom would be not impressed with my photo styling skills.
We found a beach! The water was cold!
Cold water! Cool hat! Yes, it’s pink.. I normally hate pink, but Brownie talked me into this.
Cute little condos you can stay in alongside the beach.
Capitolia Beach, CA
Sunday we went out to the pier and saw some seals. Here’s a photo of me, Brownie and her friend Carly who came up from San Jose to say hi.
The two ladies responsible for this trip – Kim & Connie Brown. Thanks for a great time!!
