Saturday was Santa Skis Free Day at The Canyons. If you listen to my snow phone or hear me on the radio, you most likely knew that. I talk about it everyday. Basically, the first 50 people that dress as a FULL Santa get a free lift ticket. All the Santas spend the first hour or so of their day hanging out together for photos for the news and The Canyons to use for promotions.
I hurried with my normal snow reporting duties yesterday morning to go help my co-workers out with the Santa Skis Free event. I wanted to see the Santas! I got everything done and headed up with two different co-workers that were dressed as Elves.
We met up with the Santas and I was assigned the role of a “traffic cop”. I had to stand in front of the Santas and not let them go until they were all ready- we wanted all the Santas to go down the hill at the same time. I let them go and as they were going down the mountain, other non-santas would sneak in with them and we wanted the photos and video to be only of Santas, so then I had to direct public to the left and Santas to the right, while on my snowboard.
