I figure better late than never..
Last weekend, April 4-5 Chris and I had plans to go to Moab with Anthony and Jeanna (in Southern Utah) to do some mountain biking, camping and climbing. We checked the weather and saw it was going to be in the 40’s and rainy. Most of you that know me, know that I don’t like to be cold. Camping in Moab would be cold.
So we decided to stay in Park City on Friday and get our share of yet another 18 inch snowstorm at the Canyons- It was sweet- it’s amazing how an April day can feel just like early January.
On Saturday we all four went to Wendover, Nevada. It’s a tiny gambling town just on the border in Nevada. It’s main purpose is to allow Utahns who gamble an easy escape, since gambling is illegal in Utah. It’s only 2 hours outside of Salt Lake. It was a super easy escape, pretty cheap and none of us lost that much money. I thought it was okay- I guess I’m partial to Vegas. If I’m going to go gamble, I want to go big. Big lights, big city, big money…. Vegas. But, at least I got away for the weekend and can say I’ve been to Wendover.
Here’s a view from our drive. This is edge of the Great Salt Lake- it’s basically sandy salt. Very strange- people write messages in it, drive in it and for some reason stick glass beer bottles updside down in it. I don’t know why.
