It was my 30th birthday this week. I had little trouble finding ways to celebrate, thanks to some awesome friends and family. I definitely felt very special! (and a little old!).
On October 20th, I woke up to homemade blueberry muffins made by Chris! We have a tradition of cooking breakfast for each other on our birthdays. I requested these muffins especially for the crumble topping.
Not quite awake yet, but eating some delicious muffins and coffee. Thanks Chris!
I got home from work and opened my presents from Chris. He gave me a cover for my kindle and a gift certificate to get some cross country skate skis.
My parents sent me this puzzle, can you figure it out?
I also got some other goodies in the mail. Got a package from Julie and my favorite cookies from Erica! Thank you!!
Chris and I went to dinner with Jeanna and Clint at Settebello. My favorite Salt Lake pizza place!
Chris let me decide what he was going to wear to dinner.. I picked purple. Anyone surprised?
The party continued (or really got going!) on Saturday night at a party my friends Brownie and Katie planned for me. I invited as many people as I could think of and it turned out to be the perfect party. There was something for everyone. Dinner, beers and even some dancin’! They really planned a perfect party- I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
We had dinner at a Silver Star cafe. It’s a really nice restaurant with a “mining” theme. Really pretty inside and a nice place to have a special occasion dinner.
We moved onto Wasatch Brew Pub. Here’s a photo of Brownie, Katie (the party planners) and I. They gave me a pink boa to wear for the night.
Katie and Brownie made these cute posters! I loved them and for sure got made fun of for the photos on them. Thanks for your help, Mom and Dad!
Another poster- so happy that the boat made it on here! 🙂
I really got made fun of for this one. People couldn’t get over the purple tap dancing leotard! Funny thing is that back then, I thought this was the most awesome dance leotard. I loved it.
Katie and Brownie didn’t leave out any details. Notice the Minnesota cake? It’s down to the details with a Twin Cities Marathon route, spot for Camper’s Paradise, Duluth, BWCA and even the U of M. All the best of MN spotlighted in my cake, complete with rainbow chip frosting, my favorite!
I also had this cake, looking very exactly similar to the Canyons logo! 🙂
In my opinion, it’s not a birthday unless you sing happy birthday and blow out candles!
A lot of people came. How fun!
Katie, me, Margo and Katie.
The Starbucks girls from tallest to shortest!
Irene and I.
I did make it home at the end of the night around 2:30am. Chris took this picture of me. I might have done some celebrating!? Ha!
