I went home 3 other times this summer, mainly for other people- not that it’s a bad thing! I went home twice in May for Dan and Megan’s weddings and went home in June to run Grandma’s Marathon with Katie. So far none of my trips have been for me, I’ve been going with a purpose. This trip was all mine. My trip to Campers’ Paradise on Lake Belle Taine in northern Minnesota, just like I’ve done with my family for the past 17? years. I love it up there! I like being outside all the time on a lake- you can’t beat that.
I trip to Minnesota wouldn’t be complete without a DQ dipped cone. I was driving the van to town and made an executive decision to have a 12:15 ice cream stop. Named after Hayden’s familys’ 3:00 ice cream time.
A couple days were windy and chilly at the campsite. The wind really bothered me, until I made a Wind-Sheild. I should have taken a photo of my invention to post here, but someone might steal the idea and market it to other campers. It’s very valuable.
Mom doing her signature aviator move and dad playing along with her. This whole pose started when she was Amelia Earhart for halloween one year and I took photos of her posing like this and couldn’t stop laughing.
The boat broke again. This time in the middle of the lake during our tubing adventure. We hooked the tube to the front of the boat and tried to pull the boat. That didn’t work and another boat gave us a tow back to our site.
The boat started working again! Turns out we had some bad gas from an old tank and it clogged the system. We stopped using that and cleaned out the filter and were back in business just in time for me do one ski.
When we got back Sunday we had Grandma over for Broadway pizza in our new kitchen! It was fun to get to have the first meal in the new space! For more updates, check out my parents’ blog.
