A week or so ago, Chris and I were models in a Vintage Ski Fashion Show. Ski History week came to Park City (it’s at a different ski town each year) and they had a fashion show of Vintage Ski Gear. Our friend Kim was organizing the event, and needed models so we signed up. I’m really not a fan of being in front of people, but Chris talked me into it to help Kim out and Kim promised beer and whiskey beforehand, so that helped a bit.
A woman named Bonnie (with red hair in the middle of the circle) owns this entire collection and donated it to the Ski Museum in Park City, but wanted to show it off a bit first, so planned out the fashion show.
Earlier in the week, they did a photo shoot for media. It was in the middle of the day, so Chris’s flexible schedule allowed him to show up and help out. Bonnie LOVED his beard and long hair – worked well for the 70’s attire.
We got ready to walk the runway in a store – here’s a photo of our first outfits. Chris’s is from the 70’s and mine is from the 80’s. We got accessories to match – notice our gloves and hats?
Here’s a photo of Megan, me and Erin.
Most of us models had to go out twice – for round 2, we were both in 90’s outfits. Mine looked a bit industrial.. not sure what that was all about.
You’d walk the runway and Bonnie would talk about your outfit. She didn’t need a script or anything.. these were HER clothes. She knew everything about them. Chris had to show off the gloves a lot here – I guess they’re Jimmy Carter gloves – they had peanuts on them.
Modeling my first outfit. It had shoulder pads!
Great photo of Megan. This onesie really works for her.
Here’s the whole group! It was a fun event for sure.
