After a PERFECT celebration in Minnesota, followed by a jam packed Leadership Park City Tour, it was time to have an AWESOME party in Utah with all our friends and family. This part of our wedding got planned one night when we were sitting at The Notch (our favorite UT bar) with our friends Katie and Matt, and said, wouldn’t it be sweet to get married here? Katie, said.. well why don’t you? So we did.
The hands-down best part of the whole weekend was that our whole families came out to Utah to come to our party. Having lived out here so long now, we don’t often get regular visitors, and the fact that we got everyone all at once, made it so SPECIAL. Having them meet all our friends here and really see our Utah-life meant a lot to us. The Wawras and Nevilles all rented one big house and it was nice to have them all in the same spot for 3 days. We absolutely loved having them here!
**Wawras/Nevilles if you have any additional photos, please send them my way! I had a busy weekend and didn’t take as many as I would have liked – I can always add to this post!
We showed them around town and did a hike up Iron Mountain right by the house they rented. We also took them to Canyons to do some Zip Tours. (photos anyone?)
On Friday us ladies (and Christian! :)) went to Elton John – it ended up being sorta like a Bachelorette party. We did gifts (I got my very own camping box filled with everything for car camping) and dinner at the huge house and then headed down to SLC for the concert. It was a lot of fun – big thanks to Erica and Sharon for putting it together!
Saturday was the wedding party at The Notch. Here’s our wedding cake! Instead of normal cake, I put Brownie in charge of a doughnut buffet. It was perfect. I don’t know why anyone would ever want anything other than doughnuts at my wedding?
Yum. Freakin’ Yum.
We did a photoshoot at a secret location with my friend Jannah – she’s a photographer in SLC and took photos at our wedding as my wedding present.
A little more casual than the MN photos, but the whole night was overall quite a bit more casual so it totally worked.
The Wawras – minus Paul and Holly – they weren’t able to make it out to Utah for the trip.
I wore my cowboy boots for this event – causual-ed it up a bit.
Look familiar? You might have seen the same photo in MN.
Lets get this party started! We gave out mason jars and drink coupons and took over The Notch with about 80 of our guests. Bring it on!
Kit and Mary drove out from Minnesota and brought bits and pieces of our amazing photo collage. Thanks for doing that! I think people really enjoyed looking at the photos!
Chris got up and said a few words and I just stood by him lookin’ cute. After this, Ben came up and got a round of Happy Birthday started for Chris – this day was our wedding party AND Chris’s Birthday!
Julia and I.
Jesse, me and Erica – these two girls win the award having known me the longest out of all the friend-guests at both Minnesota and Utah. I’m very lucky that they both made the trip to Utah, just wish I’d had more time to spend with them!!
Some of my Utah girls – Lauren, Elaine, Jeanna, Brownie and Irene.
The Starbucks crowd – Jeff, Chelsea, Isabelle, Katelynn, me, Jill, Cheryl and Chris
It’s blurry b/c whoever took the photos had too much to drink? Brownie, me and Julia
Old USSA buddies – Brownie, Margo and Katie
My survior/bachlorette ladies – Julia and Brownie
Don’t they look cute!?
Sharon and John stayed an extra day and we took advantage of it – Sharon and I went to yoga on Sunday night and then cooked dinner at home. Monday we went for a long hike up the Mormon pioneer trail in East Canyon. It was a a great way to wind down a busy weekend.
Personally, I think these two would fit in just fine in Utah. 🙂
We kept seeing Moose! I think Sharon and John were very lucky to see 3 in just 24 hours! They sure got lucky!
